Rifle Fundamentals
Course length: One day
Course Description: This course is intended to introduce or refresh technical and tactical skills with a patrol carbine or rifle. Students will learn the basic operating methods and procedures for their rifle and be introduced to individual tactics to use the patrol rifle as a force multiplier and increased distance weapon. Topics covered in this course include:
Real world safety Carry conditionAddressing the Patrol Rifle in LE SOPSEquipment selectionAmmunition selectionZeroing Optical and holographic sightsTraditional shooting positionsMagazine reloads (emergency and tactical)Immediate and remedial action for malfunctionsRapid target engagementIntermediate range target engagementTransitionsIntroduction to two man tactics
Course Cost: $200.00 ($75.00 refresher for previous students space permitting)

Patrol rifle with 5-7 magazinesIron sights (BUIS) and optics (if used)Rifle slingDuty handgunDuty belt and gear (it is recommended that duty gear carry at least one spare rifle magazine)500 Rounds rifle100 rounds handgunEar and eye protectionHatLong sleeves recommended (pants mandatory)

Class size: Minimum of 10, no more than 15
Prerequisites: Credentialed Law enforcement, Military or Private Security authorized to be armed.
